Experience the magnificent St Peter’s Basilica by exploring with our 60-minute self-guided audio tour.

Start your journey near the heart of Vatican City at Borgo Santo Spirito 17 (Al San Michele), where a staff member can help you download the audio guide, and will escort you to the Basilica security line.

Navigating with an audio guide app and digital map from the convenience of your smartphone, you’ll hear informative and entertaining stories about the Basilica with 27 listening points, and learn all about the Papal Tombs with 12 listening points.

The Basilica was built upon the site believed to be the burial place of Saint Peter, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. One of the holiest sites in Christendom, you’ll take in over 2000 years of history and enjoy ornately decorated walls, gleaming architecture and delicate sculptures from artists such as Michelangelo.

Afterwards, complete your tour of High Renaissance art with a visit to the nearby Leonardo da Vinci museum, and enjoy paintings and interactive inventions from the Italian master.
